The Emergency Card Verification Form (ECVF) will be made available online to families through E-Collect, which is a forms system in PowerSchool. The ECVF will be able to be updated by parents through the Parent Portal. This system is currently being created and will be available toward the end of September.

Keeping Students Safe & Healthy
During the first semester of the 2020-2021 academic year, visitor entry to school buildings will be by pre-approved appointment only. Visitors should contact front office personnel in advance to schedule an appointment and to ensure staff availability to accommodate the visit. Visitors shall comply with all requirements relating to mandatory facial coverings, maintaining physical distancing, and/or other directives found in State or Maryland Executive Order(s) and/or from the AACPS Superintendent of Schools.
Early Childhood Services
Special Education Services - During the first semester of the 2020 - 2021 school year, services for children and families will be conducted in a virtual learning environment through a coaching model for parents, guardians and caregivers.
Child Identification - During the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year, Child Find will conduct all consultations, screenings and evaluations through a virtual platform. The Child Find clinicians will work with families to assess children using observation, parent report, and standardized testing to determine if an educational disability exists and the student requires special education and/or related services.
Community-Based Services (CBS) -During the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year, Community Based Services staff will be providing services via a virtual e-learning platform directly to families in lieu of traveling to different community settings to support students in early care or early education environments. If families intend to or have enrolled their child in such an environment, the Community Based Services staff will be available to provide support via a virtual platform or by phone to the early care or early education environment; however, the primary focus of the services will be working with the families of these students.
Early Childhood Intervention - During the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year, students enrolled in the ECI program will receive special education and related services through a virtual e-learning platform. ECI staff will work with families through coaching, modeling and direct instruction to students to support continued learning in the natural environment via the virtual platform
Student and Family Partnerships
During the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year, we are unable to invite volunteers into the virtual instructional space as the safety and security of our students is our top priority. Volunteers who wish to support the needs of our students (mental health, housing, food, supplies, etc.) are encouraged to provide services through their school PTA/PTO or reach out to one of the Community Resource organizations listed on that site.
Students and Technology
Recording and Posting of Google Meet Instructional Learning Blocks
In an effort to provide all students with learning support after virtual learning hours have ended each day, we are going to be recording each instructional learning block daily. Teachers will post the recordings in the students’ Google Classroom at the end of each day, allowing for students to use the recordings for learning review and academic support after hours. Teachers will post this information in each of their Google Classrooms and they will announce to all students live in Google Meet when the recording of each instructional block will begin and end.
The learning block recordings will be available to students for 2 weeks in the students’ Google Classrooms and after that time, they will be archived electronically for the remainder of the semester when they will be destroyed. During the semester, the recordings can be requested to be used by a student who was absent or used by the teacher with students for content review purposes. At no time are the recordings allowed outside the Google Classroom environment. Individual recordings will only be accessible by students who are enrolled members of the class; recordings will not be in the public domain.
As parent/guardian, you will be asked to provide permission regarding recording of your student’s video image and voice during the teacher recording of our instructional learning blocks daily. Ideally, student engagement is increased when students have their cameras and microphones active during an instructional lesson. Permission will be requested via a Connect-Ed message with an associated form prior to the beginning of the 2020-21 school year.
Note: If you decide that you do not want your student’s video image or voice to be recorded, the teacher will remind your student to turn off their camera and mute their microphone before recording begins. The teacher will also actively turn your student’s camera and microphone off as well, if they are not able to do so for any reason.

Parent Portal - Special Education
During the first semester of the 2020 - 2021 school year, services for students with disabilities will receive their special education and related services via a virtual e-learning platform. Should the CDC, MSDE and Anne Arundel County Health Department deem it safe, the Department of Special Education will be working with other school officials to identify and bring small groups of students into schools on a limited basis, beginning in September.
